It is Joi (thursday) and I am in Cristi's room (he is a 10 year old boy in 4th grade who's awesome and sweet and likes Romanian soap operas =D ). He lives in Galati in an apartment. Their home is larger than my gazda's.
Cristi is...my counterpart: Ivan (the mayor of Mastacani's) ->his employee: Luciana (who is my age and has a wonderful family) -> her sister: Marinala (who works in the city of Galati) -> has a son named Cristi.
Anyway....(it is Vineri (Friday) now) and I am in the primaria right now. Luciana and I came back to Mastacani via maxitaxi from Galati.
Why was I in Galati? Luciana has some stuff to do here and her sister wanted to meet me.
What's scary in Galati...mosquitos!!! Ah! One bit Cristi and he killed it. Avion flu vectors!
I slept alright, but I'm tired...not sure why.
Anyway, Luciana was gone for the evening so I got to talk with Cristi and his father in Romanian and I think I managed to tell them about PC, about my family, where I'm from, why CA is the most important and reknown state in the US =D, what is PC, how much I earn, and why I'm here and that I'm staying in Mastacani for 2 years and that I don't like mosquitos. I showed them my blog, which I think doesn't have enough pictures on it and especially not enough pictures of my own family on there. I only have a picture of Calvin's hand, that's it!! Asa, more pictures when I get back to my laptop in Ploiesti.
Luciana came back and translated, but we managed to understand each other for the most part. It's nice having this super helpful awesome person guiding me around this new town, and introducing and welcoming to her home and family's home too.
Cafea is being drunk by me every morning -> I drink coffee every morning, and I don't even know why that last sentence is so jumbled.
I had cappuaccino tiramisu for dessert with Cristi and I got to shower in a normal shower in an apartment.
We have this rediculous homework assignment from our teachers in Ploiesti, and um...I'm sort of doing it. It's 7 topics and it says: describe restaurants, all the builders, what are they next to, describe the people, write a journal every night, economics of site, differences between Ploiesti and site, between US and site, etc, etc, etc,...
I've managed to learn only a handful more new words the last day, but maybe my sentences are coming quicker...maybe it's my imagination.
I feel like I am able to understand a bit better, and the language isn't just white noise anymore.
AND I don't try and translate Every Single English Word into Romanian anymore. Cateodata (sometimes) [coot-tay-o-dahta] I do, but not as much subconciously.
Niciodata is (never) [ni-key-o-data] and totdeauna is (always) [tot-day-o-wanna].
