PCT's ups and downs

So we were shown a chart, a depression chart, or emotional level chart that would more or less reflect us over PST. As well as a maslow's hierarchy of needs pyramid to show that we were probably at the bottom right now, and that we'd soon be able to move our way back up. Anyway...

I admit, I've had downs, but I was able to figure out what was getting me down, and I then knew how to handle it and get over them.

It's being said that about right now is another down time for most volunteers: weeks 4-5 because we're frustrated with language and homesickness, etc..
My way to deal is the right music and finding the right people to talk to, finding the wrong people to talk to sometimes makes it worse. There's a support line for us, to talk to PCV's right now who will understand our frustrations, so that's really great, as well as everyone here understands that we may be going through something, all the staff, the language teachers, and each other, so we have a strong support group.

Normally I'd have called home to talk to a close friend or family, but it's very very expensive to call and I don't have any simple way of doing it, not having any email at home or internet cafes close by.

I guess I'm saying that, we're in a new place, new language, new bubble, and some of us may have ups and downs, but we'll be okay because I at least was able to find ways to deal and I've felt much better afterwards.

This is a practice run, wait until I get assigned to my site....
